Indeed, I helped him compile his book Delicate Mission from his voluminous notes and diaries of his life. One anecdote of interest was a meeting between Conrad and Ian Fleming in Kitzbhul before the war. Fleming suspected Conrad of being a spy and was pressing him. Conrad loved to tell how his Swedish wife was aghast and blurted out, "Conrad, oh no, he's much too stupid." In fact Conrad was one of the brightest men I ever met, his aristocratic affability masking a formidable authority. I'm pleased to see this site - I found my way here from his bio on Wikipedia when I was refreshing my memory about Conrad's descent from the clan O'Brien.
