I'm researching my wife Pauline ELSE's ancestors, and we're close to confirming that William ELSE b.abt.1877, Lead Smelter in 1901 at Lea Mills is Pauline's (lost) Grandfather. We believe that he "strayed" to Rotherham. His father, also William, was a coachman at Lea Mills in 1881/1891.
Your website paints a vivid picture of the area, which is much appreciated.

Comments: Researching Joseph Alsop & family of Lea, he was Innkeeper of Jug & Glass in 1851 Census, he was my gr,gr,grandfather and I would appreciate any info about this family or anything about his time at the Jug & Glass.
