Comments: www.madhooligan.org/default.asp. I have recently purchased some military currency from an online auction. The bills are in excellent condition. I just recently noticed that the bills are signed on the back with an inscription (name, rank, ship, branch of service and date. It reads as follows:

Victor H. Colbeck (?)
USS LST #832
US Coast Guard
04/28/45

I was not able to find this name on the crew's roster. It appears to me to be authentic (the signature and the currency itself). I was wondering if any other information is available on the crew.

Comments: I was just watching a program on LSTs on the History channel, and it reminded me of Brooks Hamilton; I was a student of his in the early 1980s at the University of Maine. I remember how fondly and often he spoke of the Mad Hooligan and his time in the Coast Guard. It was great to see the photos here. Thanks.

Comments: Hobart W. Browne was my grandfather. He passed away recently June 10th 2007. He always spoke fondly of his time aboard the ship. I was wondering if anyone had any pictures that they could send me of my grandpa during this time. We have but one picture during this time. Any at all would be appreciated. Stories welcome as well.
