I was helping to support the forest defenders then, though I never climbed a tree. I did and still do admire all who worked to even TRY to save ONE of these trees. We have so little left. I regret not climbing a few trees and chaining myself up, but I admit I thought the pepper spray would kill me so I never did that stuff. I worked in the background though, and still do a little. Reading this makes me want to get back into it. Hard to do when you have a child to care for and a (puke) govt job that pays the bills. Can't we all do SOMETHING though? Even if we don't put our lives on the line? In honor of Gypsy, I challenge every friendly reader out there to get up off your behind and work for change. Protect a grove of trees, plant a garden, go solar, work for peace, teach a child to love...
