I live in New Jersey, USA, and my daugter lives on Maui, Hawaii, USA. She has recently decided to adopt a baby from Ethiopia. She will be a single mom and so I am engaging in this process with her -- as much as a Grandmom can, without being overbearing. I am looking to find out as much as possible about Ethipia and the adoption process. She is contracting with an agency named Gladney. I am thrilled with her choice and will support her in every way possible. I am however concerned about learning as much as possible about potential medical problems. Although she is requesting a healthy baby, I'm sure there are many illnesses that may surface after the adoption takes place. I want her to be as knowledgable as possible about her choice -- particularly, again in that she will be a single mom who will need to work to support the child.
