I have a 5 year old son who was diagnosed on the autism spectrum, high functioning, and it in fact turned out that he contracted Lyme when he was around 1 1/2 and never was diagnosed, so it is now in his brain (neuro-lyme) which presented as "autism" PLEASE, PLEASE make sure to have your grandchild tested for Lyme. I have heard that it can be passed through the placenta. God Bless...

I am in a similar situation...I am 25 years old and have just been diagnosed with lyme, and they think I have had it since I was 12 years old. I haven't started treatment yet (going to the lyme doc on Oct 13), but I hope it will work! I need something, anything...and your daughter's story gives me hope!
