Location: what MAKES you a MASON?
Comments: What makes you a Mason? Every Bro. should know the answer to this ? I am disappointed at all the shadiness that occurs between Brothers of the Craft. There are absolutely NO worth while benefits to being shady.

I wonder though. Is Masonic Law IRRELEVANT?
If a person purchases a ritual from the store and memorizes it, and practices it, why don't we treat him like a Brother? Should anyone who's learned the Masonic secrets be considered a Mason? What criteria do/should we use to judge who is a Mason and who isn't a Mason. Is it fair?Is it consistent?
I'm a PH Mason. I'm a nice guy. I am intellectually able to realize that being a PH Mason makes me bias. I think our criteria is consistent and fair...but maybe I'm wrong. Ours is basically: if you can trace your roots legally to the U.G.L.E. It's not really about how many letters, since there are 4 letter white(mainstream) lodges who trace there roots to U.G.L.E.
But I would like to be open minded. For all the 'International'Masons, So called Scottish-Rite-Blue-Lodge Masons, or non-mainstream AFAM masons, or whoever else: What criteria do you all use to interact with someone as a Mason? Is the only criteria that they know the secrets or have been thru a ritual? If a candidate was blackballed from joining your lodge, could his sponsor make him a Mason on his own by taking him thru the ritual?
Again, I'm a nice guy. I'd treat any other nice guy in a brotherly fashion. I'd offer assistance to any other nice guy. Masonic assistance goes beyond the circle of Masons. But I cannot interact with everyone as a Mason. If you know what makes someone a Mason, then you should be able to understand why.
