Comments: Not much of a list since THE Collie isn't rated in the Top Ten. The Collie, along with his descendant the Border Collie, are Number 1. But, any list that has them so far down on a list doesn't amount to much. I don't think highly of Stanley Coren's joke of The World's Smartest Breed tests. If he truly knew Collies, he would know they are a THINKING breed, and that none are smarter. Once you've have such a smart breed, none other will do. The breed as a rule is super smart. Am tired of the lame "Collies are dumb because they have narrow heads" baloney. Granted, I prefer a more moderate head and do not care for extremes. But, they should not have excessively long, narrow heads. AND, they are still bred for intelligence, trustworthiness, easy-to-live-with style, as well as versatility, AND as opposed to BCs, they know when to settle. BCs are obsessive-compulsive, whereas the Collie is more sensible and doesn't let his instincts over-ride his intelligence and reasoning.
