I'm an American flyer, and had deployed in there just a few months before you, April 97, with a couple of KC-135s. We stayed there about 10 days, flew a few missions out over Africa, and came back home. But it was a great highlight for me! All while we were there there was a big C-5 stuck on the runway--probably indefinitely waiting for parts. Was it still there while you were there?
