With the risk of sounding gay, i think we're all long time listeners, first time praisers/complainers here.

Anyway, here's what I have to say.

First of all, AS A GIRL, I have to say that your higher end movie choices are spot on. INGLORIOUS BASTARDS is the best movie next to the Dark Knight, only second to maybe Kubrick's masterpiece the Shining, or possibly some sort of weird, spaced out piece of something no one has ever seen, like Brazil or Suspiria. But, that's for us Hitchcock watching movie buffs that drinks on weekdays and pays no attention to people who watch "blue velvet" and say afterwards, "Wtf? i totally think that movie sucks, i don't get it".

Anyway, here's my question, and I think it's valid, if nothing more than as a fan who thinks she knows kinda what she's talking about:

I respect you, as a film critic, mostly because we seem to see eye to eye on great films. I'm not talking "interesting and fun to watch alone" films, but films that rock a generation, or have something that stands the test of time. Most of your 4.5 BDK films are great - 1408, holy crap. Saw it in the theater, almost died. Forgetting Sarah Marshall? Excellent! Moon...best movie I've seen other than inglorious in years. F-ing RUNNING WITH SCISSORS??? Thought I was the only HUMAN able to catch this last year on "FIOS on demand", and found it moving, weird, and completely compelling, similar to movies by Wes Anderson only it wasn't by Wes. Brilliant.

I digress. Here is the bitching: HAIRSPRAY? THE DECENT? AND FRICKING HOT FUZZ? I mean honestly? What the heck? I too laugh out loud to Shawn of the Dead, but was SO disappointed with Hot Fuzz. To bad I bought it.

So...the point.

I'm the kind of girl who loves to be surprised, and hates to know about movies before I see it.

Per your suggestion, watched part of the hurt locker (BORING) and ALL of Paranormal Activity, which i found INCREDIBLY predictable and also boring.

Last horror movie I saw like this was, OH! Blair Witch. No one told me it was fake, until later, and I was scared for weeks/learned my lesson.

How in the world can you go on air with the junkies several weeks in a row and say it was one of the scariest movies you have ever seen since the exorcist? I MEAN, REALLY? It's not that scary! AT ALL. And to say that it was so scary it would keep you from sleeping? COME ON! The hand from the ground at the end of carrie= WORTH NOT SLEEPING.

It was so obvious, the acting was HORRIBLE. Totally not convinceable, and already done. I have no idea how the RING got by you as less scary.

I'm not bitching really, just utterly confused. We seem to see eye to eye, but this makes NO SENSE!!!

Plus I wasted not 1, but 2 of my nights on this, because I was so bored the first night, I fell asleep and had to watch it a SECOND TIME.

I think Paranormal Activity was one of the WORST horror movies I've ever seen. Believe me, it's kinda my thing, and I'm utterly confused as to why you have it so high on your list. Please let me know your thought process so i can somehow figure out what is wrong with me.

Comments: Kev , i always check your movie site. 80% of the time you give good reviews and then i go see the movies. But i can't believe you gave Avatar only 3BDK!! It's one of the best movies ever made. But i will still look and read your reviews every friday "-) Tim

Comments: This guy is a talentless twunt. He knows nothing about film but boy does he like to write about himself.
By the way, your interviewees wouldn't sound so bored if you had some original interesting apposite questions instead of the generic shit you give the poor bastards
