Comment watering it never helped. like i said we went and got grass seed topsoil, etc and we still have bare patches the dirt has no nutrients for the grass to grow.

Comment Robin: I tried to respond to you and so has Shane by email, but your server rejected our emails.

I'm wondering if the two of you water your lawns? The owners who water their lawns just twice a week have had grass grow without any problems. If you had green grass and it recently went brown, that's because it's bermuda grass which goes dormant in cold weather. It will come back in the Spring, and only wants a little water once every other day or so.

Comment I agree with robin. our back yard was a giant dirt patch forever! my husband and i went out and got seed and topsoil to fix it ourselves but it still isn't the way it really should be. it is really sad and ever time it rains i have a swamp in my back yard :(
