Comments: The CHEK web site is still here!

The bill has just been paid for it to be hosted for another year as it is felt that CHEK should continue to have a presence on the www!

Although there has been less publicity concerning CHEK's activities than in the past, please be assured that the committee is still here keeping a watching brief on the activities of EHKA, the Strategic Health Authority and the PCTs.

Two of our committee members sit on PPIFs (Patient Public Involvement Forums) ans there is usually one if not two committee members who attend the Board meetings of the East Kent Hospitals' NHS Trust, the Kent & Medway Strategic Health Authority and the PCTs (Primary Care Trusts).

Members of the committee had a meeting with Julian Brazier MP just before Christmas to discuss the Urology situation.

We are still here, do keep in contact!!!

Comments: Question.
Why are all Dover ambulances being told to go to either Ashford or Margate and to ignore the K&C.
K&C is supposed to be able to deal with stroke, medical illness, and heart attacks, so why aren't they allowed to go to Canterbury.
Also, why do Canterbury prison staff have to take sick inmates to Margate or Ashford after 5pm?
I thought the Emergency Care Centre was 24hour!
It looks to me like they are trying to run down the Kent and Canterbury through the back door so that they can downgrade it further.
