Comments: I was a member of the Bob Andrews Fan Club. I remember having a scrap book of photos and newsletters, unfortunately I have no idea where it is now. Dad used to crew for "Uncle" Alan Clark and we spent many a late night in the carpark at Western Springs. I used to love the close bike racing and this site has bought back many memories, including the Minties adds. Always have a giggle when I hear that song "I wanna be Bobbies girl".

When and where did you seeSpeedway for the first time: 1947 Harringay
Rate my site out of 10: 9
Comments: I consider myself lucky as over 8 years I got to see many of the great riders at their best, Split Waterman, Ron How, Danny Dunton, Ronnie Moore, Jack Young, Jack Parker, Jack Biggs and of course the legendary Vic Duggan. I was a child speedway fanatic and the lapels of my school blazer always went (due to badges) before the seat of my pants. Those were the days, when you'd know a rider a mile off by the shape of his handlebars, the vastly wide bars of Squire Francis Waterman, the upright U shaped bars of Ronnie Moore, and the mountain bike size straight bars of Malcolm Craven. I even remember Olle Nygren arriving at Harringay and riding a couple of solo introductory laps on an orange bike. My friend, record producer Peter Waterman claims to be a nephew of Split. Great days, wonderful memories, thank you for a super site.
Is there anything else youwould like to see on this site: Widen your rider scope (if possible).
