I was a child speedway fanatic and the lapels of my school blazer always went (due to badges) before the seat of my pants. Those were the days, when you'd know a rider a mile off by the shape of his handlebars, the vastly wide bars of Squire Francis Waterman, the upright U shaped bars of Ronnie Moore, and the mountain bike size straight bars of Malcolm Craven. I even remember Olle Nygren arriving at Harringay and riding a couple of solo introductory laps on an orange bike. My friend, record producer Peter Waterman claims to be a nephew of Split. Great days, wonderful memories, thank you for a super site. Is there anything else youwould like to see on this site: Widen your rider scope (if possible).
