Project Responsibility Meet us at the African Poetry Theatre
This Saturday JOIN US NEXT SATURDAY FOR THE PROJECT RESPONSIBILITY KICK OFF AT THE AFRICAN POETRY THEATER 9AM
NO MORE EXCUSES. YOUNG BOYS MUST MAN^uP WE CAN!!
On January 3rd the assembled group will distribute 1000 packets. The packets will include a responsibility Questionare, a list of agencies seeking volunteers, a listing of all Queens Elected Officials, information on health awareness, economic awareness, education, cyber responsibility, etc. It will also include a message from David Plouffe and Barack Obama and a way to contact us if they do so desire. If the folk we hand a packet to would like to indulge in a conversation about Project Responsibility then we will. We won't harrass anyone. We will be gentle. Remember, accepting the packet is a start for some people because it includes valuable information and food for thought..
This is part one.
Part two is to solicit volunteers from our group to take Project Responsibility to schools, student groups/afterschool centers, etc. We will speak directly to young people about living responsibility. Project Responsibility is a community service project that is scheduled for kick-off Saturday, January 3, 2009. We are looking for community groups, concerned citizens, parents, educators, the media and our elected officials to get the young people of our community to consider a lifestyle change. We will be speaking to students in elementary, middle and high school and at after school programs, spreading the message that living responsibly will enhance their lives, the lives of others, the community and the world. Our goal is to reach thousands of young people January 3 and January 19th.
Roslin Spigner, President of the Queens Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta, has created Project Responsibility, an effort designed to teach the young people of our community how living responsibly will enhance their lives, the lives of the community and the world. |
