I just read your story about your grandpa - how wonderful! I recently went through a jar of old buttons that belonged to my mother (probably some were from my grandma) and I was intrigued. My grandchildren play with those buttons everytime they visit, despite the other toys I have here at home for their enjoyment. Because of my mother's buttons, I have become interested in buttons. Quite an interesting hobby. Don't know if I'll pursue it as far as your grandfather, though. He must have been quite the collector and quite an interesting fellow.
