The new Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City presents a fun, educational opportunity for Oklahoma’s students to learn about the people who have made our state what it is today.
Our high-tech, interactive exhibits feature Oklahomans, past and present, who have contributed to our history. The candid nature of the exhibitory in our Oklahoma Through Its People Gallery allows students to explore the lives of Oklahomans like Reba McEntire, Shannon Miller, Jim Thorpe and Maria Tallchief. The faces, voices and spirit of Oklahomans from every walk of life create an experience unlike any other in the nation.
Students especially enjoy this museum experience because they are able to touch and engage with our exhibitory, from our computer and plasma screens to traditional museum exhibits like busts. In our Bust Garden, students can play Oklahoma trivia by guessing whom each of the busts represents when presented with clues about their lives. They can even join this cast of accomplished individuals by taking a picture of their own head atop a pedestal.

We offer special rates for student groups, and I’d be happy to arrange a tour for you. You can call me at 405.523.3231, e-mail me at
Shawnta@oklahomaheritage.com or complete the enclosed group tour registration form. The Museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. We request that all groups make advance reservations.

I look forward to seeing you and your group at the Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum!

Sincerely,
Shawnta Mitchell
Museum Service Coordinator

Comments: Hello;
Maybe you can help me. I would love to be able to contact an old neighbor of mine who was stationed in 29 Palms Calif. with her husband Jerry back in the early 70's. Her name was Pat and her last name was Ma Caskle or something similar to that. She was I believe a Past Grand Worthy Advisor in Oklahoma in the early 60's.
If my memory is correct she came form the Oklahoma City or Mc Allaster area but I am not sure. I kind of figured they would go back to Oklahoma after Jerry got out of the Marines but may have gone somewhere else. Jerry was from Oklahoma too.
