Comments: My name is Shannon and I have multiple chemical sensitivity. I abused drugs and was bulimic for over 10 years, and throughout that time I got multiple infections that required lots of antibiotics. I contracted Hepatitis A, B, and C, which put alot of stress on my liver. I abused laxatives which destroyed my immune system, which progressed to irritable bowel syndrome. I couldn't stop getting high and eating and went through 24 treatments including multiple psyche ward, detox, and hospital stays (which they kept trying to stick me on anti-depressents for my fatigue which compounded my chemical use) I suffered eight overdoses (about half were suicide attempts) and became homeless at 23yrs. old. I was so tired of being weak, bloated, and depressed, and had no idea that it was because of candida, and chemical toxicity (doctors just tried to treat the symptom of depression and not the problem which created the depression) After I got off methadone two and a half years ago, my immune system was shot and I realized that I had chronic fatigue syndrome/fibromyalgia. I kept going to doctors and all they did was tell me I'm overreacting and put me on anti-histamines and anti-depressents. I've fought depression, anxiety attacks and panic attacks for over ten years. In August this year, not knowing that I had Hepatitis C, I tried to treat the fatigue and depression with supplements/herbs and continued to slam large amounts of caffiene and aspartame for energy. I took a massive amount, and after a month, I went into toxic shock, I couldn't breathe and went into a dibilitating depression (this happened almost every day for a month and I had to be hospitalized). It felt like a nightmare and I lost the will to keep going. I've become so severly allergic, that I can't go into stores without a mask, and I've been reduced to just water, yogurt, and vegetables. I can't take anything in a pill form, not even a motrin. The best treatment is avoidance, considering I can't take anything. I have noticed however that diet also helps alot.

To all the group,

My husband was exposed to pesticides on the job by a uncertified landscaper on a world wide known retirement facililty. He has MCS now and he and my family all suffer from it literally. He is in some type of pain, seizures, etc, etc, as you all know. It has changed our life and my immmediate family. We used to have all the holidays and such at my house which was a family tradition. But we realized this may be the end of a long tradition. They try not to wear any offensive odors but our family is huge and some forget or he just can't tolorate the smell from their fabric softners on cloths etc. MCS seems to have come out a little more since my studying on it began in 2001.

Great site~ but I would expect nothing less from the caring sharing person that you are!

My prayer is that one day soon all of us who suffer from MCS will be relieved of our pain and live on a new paradise earth Jehovah God has planned for us.

And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. Revelation 21: 3&4

Until then may we all support each other because we are the ones who really care !

Hello fellow sufferers.

It INDEED helps to share - and I will share my poem with you :

I had a life.....

I had a life....way back when
where I thought perfume was my friend.
I ate and drank without a fear,
but for an unknown reason,
I often shead a tear.

I felt my body did not like me
and I for sure did not at all feel free.
Doctors told me : ''It is all in your head''
I knew by heart, they were very wrong.
Therefor I found some books,
which I now have read.

The doctors still say that it is in my head,
but now I know for a fact it is not !!
So with help from my friends from all over the world,
I will fight for the world to be a safe spot.

Remember the canaries they sent down in the mines ?
They died if the air was filled with gas.
We are the canaries of today ... but with brains and minds,
We will not take all that jazz.

We want the world to be a safe place to stay
without the use of masks and oxygen every day.
Stop the use of chemicals in any way
THAT FOR SURE WILL MAKE MY DAY.
