Tell us about your Chambers family: I am a double descendant of Joseph Kyle and Katherine Chambers through siblings, Joseph Kyle Jr., and Samuel Kyle, later Judge Kyle. My particular line is through the son of John and Ann Kyle (same surname before and after marriage)of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. John and Ann's son Samuel (married Jean Bell) migrated to Mercersburg, Franklin County after the death of Samuel's father, John. From Mercersburg seven of Samuel and Jean's sons marched away to the Revolutionary War, lead by the famous minister, the Reverend John King. Joseph Kyle 1749-1821 married Katherine Chambers, daughter of Rowland Chambers. Most of the Kyle's went to Kentucky after the war was over, but left there and removed to Ohio when Kentucky went into the union as a slave state, since they were abolitionists, and Ohio was going in as a free state. They did this about 1804. Joseph and Katherine (Chambers) Kyle are buried at Massie's Creek (aka Stevenson Cemetery) cemetery in Greene County, Ohio. Katherine (sometimes spelled, evidently incorrectly, if one goes by her tombstone)Catherine. Catherine was the daughter of Rowland Chambers. I believe it to be the Rowland Chambers who was with Jacob Ten Eyck's company from New Jersey.
Tell us about Chambers Brick Wall: I haven't had time to read your entire article, but my brick wall has been finding something besides Rowland's will (which references both of his daughters, who were married to Kyle brothers). I guess I need to know who Rowland belongs to! There is so much incorrect information on the internet, it just frustrates me. I have lots of information, but there are so many versions of the lineage, it frustrates and overwhelms me, not to mention what it does to the accurate research objectives of our families. I'm not getting any younger either. I'd like to get this resolved for my grandchildren, while I can still get it down!I think I know tons about the Chambersburg family, and have even been there, but can't seem to "git'er done". I will appreciate any information you are willing to share. Your site is FABULOUS, and so appreciated. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
