They were NOT defending their fatherland, they were invaders and they were taught to destroy everything on the way of their aggression. Are these people heroes? Think of what they fought for and how many innocent lives were lost because of SS actions! Shame on you for running this web site! It is a great grief that words "pride" and "defenders" can possibly be associated with the Waffen SS divisions at all. The officers and solders of these divisions knew no mercy on anyone they have encountered. I wish you, the author of this web site, were born in Belarus or Russia and went through the hell of the Patriotic War to know the truth. And by the end of the World War II suddenly all these people confess they did not commit any war crimes as if they are totally innocent! This is an ultimate shame! Shame on them, and equally shame on you!
