My family thought the name was German but I never came across the name in Germany. I know of the Italian city Canossa and the castle of Canosa but I never saw the place name Canose until I saw your de Canose for Issac, which also might be Spanish. Do you know from where the name comes, what it means, and the religious background of the Canose family? Thanks for any help you can give.
