Comments: Dear David:

Regarding your excellent article How Command Line Parameters Are Parsed:

Please mention the following CP/M legacy constructs:

1. Command line arguments can be separated by an unquoted semicolon or comma. This affects builtin commands like COPY and batch file parameters.
In particular, I can think of no way to pass A;B (without quotes) as a paramater to a batch file.

2. If the command is called by name (no path), the following slash is treated a separator, as in DIR/P. This affects both builtin commands and external commands.
Note: If you want to use NT-style slash-separated paths with DOS utilities you have to quote them (as in TYPE "C:/BOOT.INI").

Best regards,
Chris

Comments: Howdy.

Thanks for your thoughtful article about the Ten Commandments. It's a very concise explanation of how all of those pieces fit (or don't fit) together in scripture. I'm working on a sermon and was looking for others' thoughts about the covenant that God made with Moses and the people and your article popped up in Google. It wasn't quite what I needed, but was interesting to read anyway. If you don't mind, I might refer people to this when I teach classes in my parish.

Oh, and as a totally unrelated piece of trivia, I grew up in Santa Maria and loved seeing the photographs of Santa Barbara. It's just such a beautiful place.

Julie
