Hi, love the website! I'm here representing the Iberian Lynx of Spain & Portugal. There are only 135 of these Lynx left in the wild, & of these, only 22 are breeding females! These Lynx used to have 48 Nature Reserves, now they are down to only 2! These Lynx are already in the first stage of extinction; inbreeding has already begun. It is estimated that they will be completely extinct by October 2005 or at least within the next 18 months. To learn more about the Iberian Lynx, the threats to them, & the necessary plan of action to save them go to WWW.SOSLynx.org. SOSLynx is dedicated to saving the Iberian Lynx. The web site has great information, photos, pictures, & a wonderful gift shop. I pray that you will find it in your hearts to do all that you can to help the Iberian Lynx because mankind has pushed them over the edge & they are on the way down & need to be caught befofe they disappear forever. If we don't catch them, this time--according to C.I.T.E.S. & I.U.C.N.--they won't land on their feet. Thank you for this opportunity and God bless you. Faith Shives |
