Comments: Refering to the message from Derek Longhurst, I am one of the boys who ran in the relay race in 1961. I moved to Dial Post when I was four and lived at a house called Springfield in Bentons lane and attended the primary school which alas is no longer there. My Father Anton Wasylkiw used to raise Pigs and had turkeys, chickens and a cow, and my Mother Elizabeth Wasylkiw grew everything you could imagine, we used to be almost self sufficient. we shared our house with a polish gentleman called Bernard Raczynski.. I would love to hear from anyone who has old photos of Dial Post. Myron.

Comments: Hi
I've just come across your web site, and, having heard of Dial Post, thought I would take a look to see what it is like. Alas! No photos! Good interesting text though.

Comments: Hi! I'm an Australian post-grauate student researching Lindsay Bernard Hall, Director of the National Gallery of Victoria, 1892 - 1934. Hall's brother, Basil, lived in Dial Post c. 1890. Although he left England for West Africa and then the USA in the early twentieth century, his letters are full of nostalgia for this place. There may well be no record of his time in Dial Post, but I am writing this on the off-chance that something may be known. I would greatle appreciate any information anyone may have either about this man and his family (wife Connie, son Buster) or even just about the village at the end of the nineteenth century.

Comments: I ran Lower Perryland Farm in the 80's my children went to Shipley Village School and my son when he was older helped in the kitchen of the Pepper Mill he well remembers their pot belly pigs. I was horrified to read that this had now become a private house. I remember being at village hall events a the noise of the traffic rumbling through before the by-pass. I am glad to think Dial Post can now become a peaceful village. To any who remember me in the area a fond hallo.
