Comments: Thank you so much for sharing this information and photos. My mother, Erma Orman Peters, passed away this last January (1/8/2008). I wish I had found this when she was still with us. She would have so enjoyed this. I have several quilts that she made with her grandmother, Elizabeth (Henry Orman). I also have some photos of my Grandfather's farm (Guy Orman). I will try to upload soon to ancestry.com.

Grandson of Charlie Orman, Ottumwa Iowa.
I have a long standing curiosity about the name and the history of Orman. One of my early memories is visiting relatives in Ottumwa and driving over to Ormanville. My memory says that the town was alive and well at that time (late 40's very early 50's). Can that be so?
