I'm writing from the American Diabetes Association to ask for your assistance and help in one of our upcoming events. We have a Tour De Cure bicycle ride in Gloucester MA at the end of May to help build awareness and fundraise for diabetes research. It is May 31st 2009 to be exact and are looking for motorcyclist to help escort our races. It's a big factor in keeping our tour riders safe on race day. We will need a motorcyclist in the front of the pact to help navigate the course and keep the event manager informed on the where bouts of the racers and will also need one in the back with the last racer which will help authorities identify when the racers have safely completed the course.
We have other volunteer opportunities as well if anyone you know of, friends, family, neighbors, and so on is interested please contact Pamela Schmuhl (see info below).
We are looking for about eight escorts, two for each ride but the more the merrier.
