I am 29 year old male that has never had a permanant career but only temporary employment thanks to your wonderful form of neo liberal utopia i presume this is normal.
I must say though i am fed up of sending my modest c.v to some of the biggest service industries in the country coles myer and woolworths whom never seem to respond to my jobseeking efforts.
As a jobseeker i think big corporate sized organisations have a duty to share their superflous wealth with those that tryhard and have qualifications but are constanly denied access to employment for no explained or obvious reason.Too many jobs for those in the know and not enough merit based employment.
For example are some big businees just lazy when it comes to unacknowledged job applicants or are they just rude as in cant you take a hint your unwanted you low life tryhard applicant.
I for one would probly be regarded as long term welfare receipent i am giving up applyiing for some companies altogther because i know from past experience that they will simply ignore me, due to their unknown processes.
Believe me you will never eliminate increasing welfare depndency in this country until you find out why some Big businesses are inefficient in the way they hier staff and why so many Small business are too much involved in nepotistism and dont employ enough outsiders in their local affairs.
There is also far too much emphasis on junior positions in the labour market and too much age discrimination we were all young once but cannot be juniors forever, but this does not however mean that we many not want to train for entry level positions in mature age.
Have you ever considered that most B boomers are just too plain selfish and like to whinge about the society which they themselves created.
Youve lost this citizen.
Gd luck with welfare reform
(sarcastically fat chance)

I am glad to see that there is some sentiment among libertarians to be involved in the political process in some manner. I wish the Free Trade Party the best of luck in their endeavor to do so. You can count me in as a friend and supporter. Since the Liberal Democratic Party has gotten off the ground, have you considered uniting with them in an attempt to win seats in Parliament or Australia's provincial legislatures? Movmiento Libertario has been successful in this regard in Costa Rica's parliament. The libertarian movement in the US has had some success with this but, unfortunately, it has mainly come from libertarians running as Democrats or Republicans rather than as registered Libertarians. Since Australia has proportional representation and preferential voting, I would imagine getting a libertarian elected to office would be much easier. It almost worked for the LP of New Zealand too except the ACT party took almost all of their proposals and enacted them. This will end up happening too as long as your party remains ideological and not compromise or water down your principles or core beliefs. Once again, best of luck! Pete, you asked me if I agreed with: that it all comes down to understanding human nature and optimizing outcomes by advocating institutions that are consistent with our nature.
Let me answer that simply by saying that our "performance" objective should be for understanding more. Plain and simple. That's what I feel (!) we're all about in what we're doing... when you, when we, understand more (and It feels great...). Beyond that, beyond understanding... (we/I) should let people draw their own conclusions, about everything else, whatever that might be... (la dee da?)
I'm with you, here, Pete,
for what "I feel" you're truly doing, for a greater understanding...
By the way, I must have been confused, or something (failing memory?) in not putting more detail into that Warren Buffet "peace" about those seemingly "hateful" rightwingers who almost diabolically seem to oppose property taxation, of any kind...!
Warren Buffet's $18,000 in property taxation was on a/his Nebraska home only valued at about $350-400 thousand, from what I recall... vs. $2,500 for that multi-million dollar beach-front estate in California!... Buffet is not against "fair" property taxation... Hardly. He's for fair property taxation (in calling for raising California's property taxes...) "against" the unfair property taxation, elsewhere, everywhere...(?!) that discredits and brings the whole idea of us, property taxation... and ultimately, Understanding (!), down. Where is the truth, of Warren Buffet for politics... now? You can be sure he ain't "up" , in politics... One has to wonder what impact that will have on his "big money" future now that he has bucked what is "politically" correct... He could make up for it, "politically!...", as I am sure he has done most of his life...
Wrote earlier today to our Understanding... (!) of "my" nature, my "human" nature (correct me if I'm wrong here...) in a book I've been writing for a long time... (too huge! too long...) that I do what I feel...(!) mostly, and that "mostly" is what I understand. Let's keep helping ourselves in this respect...

Just a note of interest from today's (left-wing?...) Toronto Star. Check out the business section... "Sensible Buffett no match for Arnold". Buffett pays $2,500 taxes on his $4,000,000 Cali. home... $18,000 or thereabouts on his Omaha, Nebraska home! He thinks that Prop. 13 isn't fair, in this regard... and that property taxation is inherently fair... like we have figured out!... Arnold wants him to shut-up (do 500 sit-ups if he opens his mouth on it again!...) and it seems like, arguably, the best financial-economic mind in the world... wants out of politics!... because of the "mental block?"... of (present?) "political" society... The so-called (welfare-bum?!...) "right" are actually venting angst, verging on "hatred!..." for property taxation.
Watch out who you pick and choose for your friends and political supporters... and "re-think" what politics is, and does, and what you are doing in this respect... "Working" harder for what you want and need from what you feel and understand is the true "right" answer and the way to go (!) in this respect...
What was said:
"Buffett's Prop. 13 views unleashed a torrent of abuse, from every right-wing crank with a Web site to an ongoing excoriation in the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal. Buffet's hometown Omaha World-Herald was besieged by letter writers saying Buffett had it exactly wrong: Property taxes are not too low in California, they're far too high in Nebraska. Not far from Buffett's $4 million get-away mansion in Laguna Beach Calif., outraged neighbour Sally Forbes told the Los Angeles Times that Buffett "engaged his mouth before putting his brain in gear."
"Buffett has wilted under the abuse."
your spiritually "understanding" buddy!
