But, in 2002 Martin became a born-again Christian and left the JWs. He then became part of and worked for a Bible-based Church in Southend (Southend full Gospel Church/His Coming Ministries) whose members were themselves trying to work with the local Chinese and bring them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Then, in December 2005, Martin started reading a Christian book about the Christian Church in China entitled The Heavenly Man, (By Brother Yun and Paul Hattaway. Published by Monarch, London) and slowly came to realize that God wanted him to start a ministry for the Chinese people in the UK too. Since starting Global Light Ministries, Martin has been taking meetings in various churches, both English and Chinese; he is an experienced and confident speaker.
