Comments: I just became interested in privvy digging and bottle collecting. About 13 years ago, a friend was doing some excavating in his yard in Deadwood, SD; and came across an old privvy. It was chock full of old bottles of every kind imaginable. It wasn't until recently I found out how valuable many of those old bottles are, and with the economy the way it is, I think it would be a great way to make some money. And beside that, I'm a HUGE history lover, so it would be a good fit for me as a hobby. I've been looking for a good source for information on bottle values, tips and pointers for privvy digging. I'd sure appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.

You're quite a character. I dig with a fellow named Tim as well up here in Canada. He's quite a character too.

Thanks for the stories and pictures.Just looking at the pictures sure makes me want to jump up and run outside and get my digging stuff and go move some dirt.Anyone who has been digging sure can relate to the stories and pictures. If you have dug for any length of time , you know that you don't always find stuff. It's the thrill of finding a hole and moving dirt that gets the blood pumping , but is sure is fun to find good stuff. Digging for bottles has brought me great satisfaction over the last 20 years and collecting bottles is a great hobby. Keep digging and having fun and remember that Jesus Christ is Lord .
