Comments: Geeezz Johnny.
I really doubt it was the real Simon Cowell.
The real one arguably would have had enough spare bucks to donate us each some quality recording gear so we could try to make a better effort of our cross continent recording efforts and get a better drum sound. Unfortunately the actual people with the money rarely put their money where their mouth is.

Comments: Hi Simon.
Yes maybe sending MP3s could be another option. I was mainly concerned about the additional quality loss on MP3s vs CDs, but then again for our purposes that might work all the same. I don't know if Johns equipment can work with MP3s, I will have to check on that.
Anyway thanks again for those additional suggestions.

Comments: Thanks John /Simon, and yes, believe it or not, John and I have never EVER played live at the same time in the same room together at all. I just drum to basic backing tracks that John sends me by regular mail on a CD. I try my best to drum to those tracks, recording a basic drum part which he can then hopefully work with later.
Considerable quality is lost in sending those backing CDs back and forth. John adds his extra stuff - vocals guitars etc. later. I really could care less if the end result is commercially palatable. (So What!) John's singing is really no worse than Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen's or Neil Young.
John has never claimed to be a vocal athlete. He enjoys it and that is all that matters to me. Regardless of all of that, at the end of the day for me it is still fun to do (drumming) besides all of the other serious day to day stuff I am already committed to.
