Comments: Dear sir.

I would like to asked you something which some of your members would remember this event or involved.

During June 1955, a patrol of Royal Scout Fusiliers who patrolled north of Baling which is close to Thai-Malaya border found a large Communist Camp which can accomodate 100 people. During their search, they found a large RAF B-24 Liberator found intact on a slope below a Communist Camp. They found the wreckage with the drop container still attached to the bomber. After a long recovery process, they recovered a large quantities of weapons, ammo, which were intend for Force 136 who operated behind enemy lines during ww2. Together they recovered B-24 weapons. An auster was send to dropped special tools to recovered the guns.

From the reports, 12 sorties were used to recovered the weapons from the LZ which was created on the Communist Camp by helicopter. I would like to know which Squadron or pilot who engaged on this mission and would like to know if they have any info on the precise LZs coordinated or lat/long. We need it since we do know that the wreckage still have human remains and if we found it, 8 families which endures a long waiting news will be end..So far the families of the wreckage were found and they still hope something.

So know, we need to do another phase by asking to the helicopter pilot who do a job to lifted the weapons to Ipoh..

The actual grid was 818300 and heli LZ was 818301

Comments: I served with the Malay/sian Police for over eight years, five of which I was engaged on operations, plus I was OC of the jungle fort -Fort Brook for 8/9 months. Be it on jungle ops, or in a jungle fort, helicopters played an important roll and came to be my/our 'safety net'. So to all the crews and maintenance staff etc, please allow me to say a big thank you for your untireing and dangerous work.
Thank you.
A Happy Christmas.
Roy
