I've had operations on both sides. First one was fine. The other side has been a disaster of constant pain that if I do anything physical at all becomes disabling pain for days and weeks. Can anyone give me a sugestion as to what I should do? I've been told I can't have the large mesh in me taken out. Possibly kill the nerve somehow. That scares me too. Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou Justin.

Post operation pain after 6 weeks. Pain occurs when tieing right shoe- or other similar tension move. Right lower plastic mesh insert feels "tight". Conventional non-laproscopic method. My contention is- why pay for something that caused additional pain , fatigue, and downtime? I am dealing with my health care providers now in this regard.

I'm an active & healthy 47yrold female w/ 23yr old right (incisnal)inguinal hernia repaired 25 May 2006 by open cut& patched w/ mesh. Hurts to sit long or bend still. Reread the Harry Potter books and don't do anything. V helpful site-thank you all and happy healing. It's really good to know that this could re-occur if I don't take better care of myself. My hernia dr is unavailable for post-op-mainly because I'm too uncomfortable to wait 1-2+hrs in his office waiting for him after our pre-arranged office visit time. Next surgery I'll go by my first name--Doctor. And see how long I have to wait...
