Comments: Arrived in Pirmasens in March, 1958 and served there in C Company until April, 1960. Helped build MP housing in Massweiler, went to Beirut summer of 58. TDY to Nancy, France summer 59 to pour concrete for motorpool pads. Built school on post late '59. Spent most of my money at Mom's in Fehrbach, Atlantic Bar and Star Bar. Had some great times in Barcelona, Copenhagen, Nancy, Paris, Heidleberg and Karlsruhe to name a few. Like many others my time in Germany good and bad but would not trade it for anything. Made frienships that are still strong to this day. See Gisela Mayer Goodwin (Mom's daughter)in Fla. every winter 50 years after we met in Fehrbach. Most of my buddies are gone, Jerry Steele, John Colombo, Gene Bushman Gary Anderson and others I can't locate. Would like to hear from anybody from C Company even you Captain Franks you crazy bastard. Sorry to tell you but your reenlistmant bar didn't work. I got recalled for the Berlin crisis in '61. For those who have not attended, we have had some good reunions the past 10 years or so. Just got back from one last week. For info about our next one just e-mail me.

Comments: I was with the 79th from 6/70 to6/71. We were stationed in Vilsek, and New Ulm. I helped build amo bunkers, a school in Bohn, and a training course outside of New Ulm. If Roy Haines or bucky (can't remember his name) is out there email me. I have been looking for this sight for a long time. My daughter findly found it for me. I could not find a picture of our patch anyplace. Findly saw it on this web sight. Still good to be home even after 37 years. Welcome home to everyone. Rick
