I TOTALLY enjoyed reading your above history on the Siberian Husky! I have two of them and love them to death! My older male, unfortunatly, suffers from a recurring and extreme skin allergy which I think is caused from zinc deficiency, although the vets do not claim any knowlege of this. National Geographis's recent story on genographics -on DVD contains a good segment on the Chuckchi people and is very interesting to view. I thank you very much for this informative input on the Siberian Huskys.In the DVD is mentioned the fact that both the people and the dogs were physically built short in stature-close to the ground, with longer bodies and shorter legs-somewhat like little "furnaces" to maintain heat in their body in such frigid temperatures. How logical!
