Comments: It's a perfect page turner - great set-up and suspense in the conflicts with the murder as well as the relationship between Jessica and George. I think it's a mature and respectful telling of Jessica's character. I enjoyed the setting as well - I felt like I was in Ireland with them. Anne did a great job of describing the mood and setting. I was fascinated by the tarot card reading scene, not just with the reading itself but by the reaction of the characters and the result of drawing the conflict to a head. This story is a perfect drama with just the right amount of mystery and romance.

Comments: It was a cute story but, it focused so much on their relationship that it kind of put a cloud over the murder mystery.
Also,I don't think George and Jessica would have sex out of wedlock, I just don't think their That kind of people.
For one, Jessica is to kind and lady like to do something like that, two,George is to much of a gentelman to do some thing like that. But, other than that,It was just a good story. Just tamper down the romance next time and forgo the sex all together.

Comments: I just revisited this story--it is excellent!!! Very tastefully done, and romantic with good conflict between Jessica and George that ended up bringing them closer together. The dream she had of seeing Frank was a nice touch, too.

Comments: Hi Sheridan,

I saw your review, and the answer to your question is that "Midsummer Eve" happens well after "Martinis and Mayhem" - I don't recognize the last chapter of "Martinis" as being valid and I just ignored it. For one reason, it was convenient to do so. :) For another, in that last chapter George "meets" Seth and Mort for the first time, when he'd already met them before, in London, in "Gin and Daggers." So since that big mistake had already been made, I felt completely justified "tossing out" the whole episode from my continuity.

Hope that answers you question! :)

Comments: I just finished reading Jessica Fletcher and Donald Bain's novel "Martins and Mayhem" and at the end of the novel guess who went to Cabot Cove, Maine.......................

George Sutherland!

Would like to know when "On A Midsummers Eve" was written. Was is before or after "Martins and Mayhem"?

Comments: Even better than the first of the triology. Plot was great. Loved seeing George come to the aide of Jessica (great and best predicament to date for her) and the scene that took place that evening....I thought that I would have to take a cold shower! Greatly written. Wish we could know what Angela's views would be on this triology.

Comments: Wow. And the hits keep coming!
This too was an excellent follow up.
Honestly, I'm not too into Jessica having a 'intimate relationship', but if it were to happen, this is exactly the way I would have it done!!
Impressive.
