My sincerest condolences to Mr. Holly's
entire family. NO MORE PAIN. I still remember watching the Buck Owens's show with my step father at home in Texas back in the 60's. I enjoyed it very much.

In 1976, I was a Bill Mack wanna-be Disc Jockey in Tucumcari, NM.
I interviewed Doyle on my radio show that year. Later that evening, at a small venue show at Tucumcari's most popular night spot, The Pow Wow, Doyle asked me to stand up, which I did. He then thanked me for that interview. In front of 50 or so local friends and family, Doyle made me feel like I was ten feet tall !!
That's what kind of a man Doyle was. A performer harboring no pretense about his stardom, just somebody who loved people as much as he loved entertaining them! I miss him!

I was shocked to hear of Doyle's passing. Many years ago, he and his band often played at the Cow Palace in Colorado Springs, Colorado when I worked there. What a delightful man he was! Loved his music. He and the band even came to my home one night for a home cooked dinner and Doyle asked if he could take a bath in my old time, cast iron, claw foot, 7 ft. long bath tub. I even added bubbles! He and his music live on in memories.
