Belvie married James Hollaway 3 Oct 1892 at Smith's Branch, Greenup Co KY. Belvie's father was John Henry Tackett. He was born 1 Jan about 1832 (it says 1823 on his death certificate, but that doesn't correlate with his age on other documents) in WV and he died 21 Feb 1916 in Scioto Co OH. Belvie's mother was Cynthia "Cyntha" Alford born about 1847 VW and died April 1907. John Henry and Cintha Tackett are buried in Garvin Cemetery Scioto Co OH next to several of Belvie and James' children. Several of Belvie's brothers are also buried there. John Henry's parents were Samuel Tackett born about 1805 in WV and died 1886 in Vinton OH, and Hanna Davis born about 1817 in WV died 1884 in Marion OH. One source said that Samuel was the son of Poss Tackett and Johanna Castle, but did not cite any records supporting this. I would like to find out more about Samuel and Hanna Tackett and if they are related to the Tacketts that were attacked by Indians at Tackett's fort. My mother grew up in Rush Township, Scioto Co OH, but did not know much about the Tackett side of the family. I would love to hear from my Tackett and Hollaway cousins, if any of you are out there.
