My father served from 1941 in a field arillery division, where he re-enlisted after Pearl Harbor, to the end of the war. He served in North Africa, Italy and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Somewhere in there he met my mother, and Italian national who was conscripted as a teenager to work in a German labor (maybe in Alsace, France) camp working on jet engine in a salt mine. Neither parent was willing to share information about their expieriences and now they are deceased, so I am trying reconstruct their WWII history.
