Comments: Thanks for your story. I underwent decompression surgery in Sept. 2007; I had Type 1 Chiari with syringomyelia. Just recently started experiencing headaches and had my first light-headed spell about an hour ago. Wondering if it's because my period is due and the water retention could be affecting my fluid flow. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Comments: Mom of Nicky, 8 yrs. old. Diagnosed with CM1 Jan. 12, 2007. 18mm herniation to the C2. No syrinx. We see Dr. David Frim at Univ. of Chicago. He is staying surgery free for as long as he can. I've learned so much this year, including how uneducated so many doctors are about this condition.
