When I moved out on my own, I knew I wanted a cat. Meishka was a 4 month old kitten being given up by his owner. I took him sight unseen, and we grew up together. We spent 9 eventful years together. I wish I could have had 9 more. His death came on so sudden, he had so little time to enjoy the windows in our new apartment. Meishka used to like to hide in bags, and anyplace he could be alone, but seen. He used to sleep under my desk on a pillow by my feet, while I clicked away at the computer keys. He used to wake us up in the morning by chewing on anything that would make noise, if that didnt work, he'd scurry across my face. She was so sweet, loving and caring. She never let her illnesses get her down, she always wore a happy face and had such beautiful smiling eyes. I still look behind me when I walk hoping to see her still following in my footsteps the way she always did.... I keep blinking my eyes hoping that it was all just a dream and that she is still here. She gave us all so much love, I just wish that we had had more time to love her and show her how much we cared about her. Eight years was just not long enough.
