Comments: My great-great grandparents lived in Lackawack, NY My great-grandfather was born there in 1861. I have tried to find information without any success. I know they left Lackawack approx. 1870 and moved to Bayonne NJ. I can remember my grandmother talking about visits to Ellenville. I have spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon visiting your sites on Lackawack and Ellenville. Thank you for a beautiful afternoon Sincerely Virginia Maxwell

Comments: I used to live in both Napanoch and Ellenville and am so glad I found this site!I wish you had better pictures of the prison--my father worked there from 32 until 40. I also wish you could show then and now pictures--but I'm greatful for what you have shown.

Comments: What an absolute delight! While researching my Evans and Burlison relatives who farmed on the Shawangunk mountains in the 1800s, I came across your excellent Ellenville site. From there I marvelled at the eccentricity of the Yama Farms Inn - another excellent website! And then the wonder of your marvelous art. I have been studying the Wawarsing area for months and trying to imagine what it was like to have lived on those craggy slopes. Your paintings perfectly capture what my imagination envisaged. These sites have made my day! Thank you!!!
