Comments: My father passed about three years ago, but I had not seen him in about 28 years. Both of us moving we lost addresses and phone numbers. I recieved some papers from an aquantance and found that he may have been on the USS Magoffin in December of 1956 in Japan. I am just looking for information about my father's life before I was born. His name is William Riley Tibbens. He mentioned he had a band and I remember seeing some old pictures of him in a band wearing his uniform.

Comments: Really excited to stumble upon this. My Grandfather Otto Metzger served on board in WW2. He passed in 1981, still remember his stories, as do my children today. To learn his ship was born where I now live is incredible.Anyone have any info to help keep him fresh in our hearts and minds.
Thanks to all-
