Thank you so much for doing that, and I actually have heard from Fr. Michal the other day. He sent me an email and I was so thrilled. He is my mother’s first cousin and I met him as a little girl when he came to Michigan and then, probably about 20 years ago when he came back. My Mom was in Poland a few years ago with her sister in law and I know they visited with him then.



I had been thinking of him for a few years and actually, last month, I took my mother to Hamtramck (formerly having a large Polish population) to lunch and when we came back I started looking for some pictures of my father and came across Michal. I got intrigued again about his whereabouts and decided to try again. I was actually searching on my cell phone while I was waiting for my son at a Cub Scout event. I found his picture saying mass on your website and a few days later visited your website. Never in a million years did I think I would hear something so quickly! My mom is thrilled. Michal said he was going to Warsaw for a week and I am going to email him some photos and updated information about our family.



I know that Michal has some cousins in Canada ( I think Toronto) as well, Steve Koch. I actually have a card from him from a couple of years ago on my desk where he refers to some wedding pictures he has of Kasha Niesiewicz in Dobra in 1926. I know that many of the family went to the Chicago area when they came to the USA and possibly upstate New York. I don’t currently know of any family in Wisconsin, but I do have a couple of contacts that I can forward your website to.

The service you have provided via the Dobra website is remarkable. When I began collecting data on the family background I never expected to trace back any further than the immigration records. Now because of your website I have hope of going back to Galacia to find more distant relatives.

Have you ever thought of spearheading a project to find someone in Przemysl that might be able to locate records for the mising 30 or 40 years between the data available on your site and the LDS files that are available. My Grandfather was born in Dobra in 1886 and I estimate that his Father Demetrii was probably born about 1862.
I am currently retired and would be more than willing to lend assistance in this endeavor if you might pursue such an undertaking.
