My father Edward Hawkins was signal man at Carterton Station just after the 2nd world war. My mother had Carterton post office for 40+years. I was born in Carterton, right on the crossroads in a former shop owned by my mother. I lived within a few hundred yards of the cross roads for 65 years, when I retired to sunnier climes in Cyprus. I would love to have contact with anyone who can remember our childhood and growing up days in Carterton.
