Comments: Being that Saluda is such a small area and isn't well documented on the Internet as are most other areas, I never expect to find much when I run an occasional search for it now and again. This time though, I saw an image of the Archibald Family Graveyeard and couldn't help but look further into this website. I lived in Saluda for about 20 years, right across the street from the old farmhouse and the cemetary. I grew up walking the woods around the area (I even remember stumbling onto the abandoned gravestone site on many occassions as a kid).

In all that time, I never knew the history of that particular spot, or who inhabited the farmhouse across the street. If, in fact, this is the same farmhouse, then regrettably it is no longer there. The morning they brought in the machinery to bring it down, I ran to my front porch and took a picture before it was reduced to a pile of rubble. I regret that this is the only photograph of it that I can find, but I thought you might like to see it.

I really enjoyed your website and seeing some familiar places I hadn't thought of in a while.

Comments: I'm always interested in the area where my father's family was from, and sometime in the near future hope to make a trip to the Urbanna, Saluda area.
