Great site. I was at the Missile Master, worked in the Blue Room, at Selfridge AFB from March 1963 to July 1964 as a (MOS) 151 and later a 16H. In 1964 I went to Osan, Korea (HHB, 38th Bde). Thanks again for the view.

Great site Tom---thanks for adding the pix of the Warrensville IFC and Launcher sites. Was fiddling with Google Earth trying to find the area, but couldn't remember the road so I typed in Cleveland Nike Missile site and was tickled to find your site.
I spent early 1959 until Jan. 61 at the CL 34 site, B
Battery of the 67th Artillery. I'm still in touch with Gerry Glenn, another crew chief, working with me. First Sgt. Lutz was ping-pong expert there--mostly all he had to do!!! John Forbes, a Princeton grad from New York, was the c.o. and drove a
battered Simca all the time. Forrest Freeman was another legendary character who headed for local bar just down from IFC road. He and another guy closed it down 7 days a week from 4:35 until midnight!!! Some fun days there--and the G.I. Bill paid for all my graduate college work later, so the 3 years in Army was a very good deal. Unforgettable memories!!!

Awesome page. I grew up here and always wondered what was really there. Google Earth has great colour images of the sites.

I was stationed at the Nike Missile site in Commerce, Michigan from Jan. 56 to October 57. It was excellent duty. Capt. Marvin L. Alexander was the commanding officer. Shortly after my arrival there, Capt. Alexander assigned me to the administrative offices doing a variety of duties, including NCO for training; public information and operator of the Day Room projector for regular movies and I was also in charge of the little PX which I opened for a couple of hours each evening. I served with some outstanding guys and we met many fine people from the surrounding community. I would like to hear from some of the other people who served there then and I have entered my name on a couple other NIKE base websites but no one has yet responded. Probably, we are just old enough so that most of us don't use computers.
