Comments: I think you should have more options on the selection policy thing at the start of the page, or so that people can choose more than one.

It is a simple poll technically, reflecting my state of computer literacy! It gives a rough idea of people's thinking though; it would be a mistake to take it too literally.

Comments: Let us consider the case where for instance my yr 11 english ext 1 assignment is dued tomorrow and I have not started.

Let us denote the time between now and my Ext 1 period tomorrow be T. Because T is quantity which measures time, it can be divided into arbitrary subintervals which themselves measure times. This process could be repeated indefinitely hence i have infinite subintervals which all measure time.

Is it possible to achieve a finite amount of work, i.e. my assignment, over infinite time intervals???

Comments: What SBHS fails to see is detrimental to the future of this school.
By taking Asians from the selective schools test, it is killing rowing and rugby.

1. The most obvious answer to this is Mitchell Comans's letter to the Telegraph on 20 April! Think also of the sports that are doing fine--soccer, cricket.

2. SBHS does not take "Asians" from the selective schools test; we accept students who have the appropriate qualifications whatever their background is.

Yet by taking (offensive terms for "non-Asians" deleted) to ensure the two sports’ survival in the GPS circle, SBHS has systematically killed it’s name and reputation as a top academic school.

We don't do that either and no-one who matters is seriously suggesting we should.

Facts are facts, without asian, UAI will suck.

Good students, thanks, whatever their backgrounds; reverse racism does not help.

What gave SBHS its notoriety ("reputation" might be better) is its academic achievements. To be a sport school or academic school. Since neither extremes seem to satisfy SBHS, it seems that sitting on fence is the only way to go. ?? Yet by doing so, SBHS is already losing; the name SBHS is but a pale reflection of the school of yesteryear. Dilemma Dilemma. In this Asian dominated world. Let us embrace your undeniable destiny SBHS. Be the Brain or Be the Rest.

If this means let's excel, I would agree. If it means let's all learn to live in a diverse world where we can appreciate the values of other cultures and respect them and even learn from them, I would agree. If it is (as it sounds) just another kind of chauvinism, then we part company. That causes disharmony, and that will be very bad for SBHS. Let us respect everyone here--we are all in one school family. The feelings in this letter are easy to see, but the line of thought could do with a little more careful argument, don't you think? -- NW 29/4/02
