Comments: Excellent site! Helps immensely in writing. I'm one of four admins on The Writers Ranch, a site dedicated to "The Young Riders" TV show fan fiction. And thanks for other great links!

Comments: I was looking for "Who Hit John"
A friend of mine's Father passed away last year and he found a quart jar of a clear liguid that was duct tape closed with the label Who Hit John written on the jar.
I have been researching the phrase and also found from a few old timers that when a fellow was found on the floor after drinking spirits someone might ask "Who Hit John"? Regardless of their name.
Respectfully,

Comments: Love the Western slang list! I'm writing a screenplay where the characters all speak as if they were from the late 1800's and I've been able to incorporate many of these terms. Thanks for the whole site, my research has become fun again...
