Hi there,
I'm doing some family research and found some letters belonging to my grandfather. He was a rancher and uses the term "rough haunch" to describe a difficult pack or hike. I was wondering if you had run across this usage before?
Thanks - Darrick

Anyone ever heard the term "Montana canary" as a local (Montana) reference to a burro?

Excellent site! Helps immensely in writing. I'm one of four admins on The Writers Ranch, a site dedicated to "The Young Riders" TV show fan fiction. And thanks for other great links!
