The state passed a law in the 50's - no more outhouses. Their outhouse was about half-way up the hill between our house and theirs, just outside Grandpa's garden (fertilizer anyone?) One day my cousin and I decided to use it to "save time" - rather than go up to our house. Well, there we were, perched on the pot, when we looked down and saw a little garter snake sitting in the corner catching flies. EEEKK!! We went running, with our britches around our knees. When we realized how silly we looked, we hoped nobody saw us!
