Comments: I Served with the 185th at camp coryell 1968-69. Crewchief on the birddogs. I remember the psp, perferated steel planking on the airstrip and parking area very well. Also the 57 mortar attacks that blew up our mess truck and mess tent. I was there when the mortar round hit outside the orderly room and killed the CQ at the desk. Capt shyrock was my pilot. Yep shoved many a HE and White phosporus rockets down those tubes.

Comments: In 1970 I was an artillery SP/5(not a member of 185) who flew as a back-seater on many V/R and artillery registration missions. Thanks (after all these years) for the smooth rides.

Comments: My father, Norman L. Wootan Jr. flew with the 185th in '69 -'70. I was researching this and other units he flew with (18th, 219th, & 17th/7th Cav)in order to build him a shadow box for his awards, decorations and unit patches etc.

Wonderful website. I am always amazed at the depth of information on this website. Also, did you know that we have the updated list of ALL PRESUMPTIVE CONDITIONS that many veterans do not know about? Veterans are encouraged to take a look, they may be eligible for lots of benefits and not know it.
