general thoughts There was a point to this ...

In June's issue of Better Homes and Gardens, there's an article on how graphic novels and comic books are now gaining credit in the classroom. The article details the relevancy of images and discusses the relationship between word and image. So, Bill, if anyone ever gives you smack about teaching comic books in the classroom, direct them to that article ... I mean, if Better Homes and Gardens supports it ....

I hope you all are having a fabulous summer :)

I'm relocating to Philadelphia next week, so y'all will just have to enjoy the weather for me!

what's working for me so far: -Being out of school! woo-hoo! I agree with "Boatswain" on the fact that reading is much cooler when there are no deadlines.
-Vacations. I just got back from London and regret that I had to come back here! Man, London rocks. Bill, I know you're there right now...enjoy it while it lasts! Eat a banana/nutella crepe for me at one of those crepe stands. The best one is in Camden, but there is also one outside the Westminster tube station, or in a market in Soho. I'm addicted to those. ALSO! go eat at my favorite restaurant EVER....WAGAMAMA. There's one on High Street Kensington, Leicester square, or pretty much anywhere else!
what's not: Having graduated. Don't get me wrong, I'm so proud and relieved that I graduated, but I kind of wish I could re-live last semester because it kicked ass. I also miss the people from all my classes. Sometimes you don't really consider them "friends," but you see these same people one/two/three times a week for years...of course you get closer to them then you think.
suggest other progeny-type text/film: Nick Hornby's "Speaking with the Angel."

Also, "Derrida" is playing at a theatre in Irvine, CA.

general thoughts I noticed that there are 58 pages to this libidinal-progeny-diary we've all created. It would be very Derrida to turn this into a book and use it for the same 594-lit/aesthetics/Derrida class. ...think about it....
